The Central Oregon Coast Amateur Radio Club membership is open to all licensed amateur radio operators. Most of our members live in the Florence and surrounding area but we do have members in other locations with some checking in on the Wednesday night net via Echolink.
The club actively participants in Field Day and the International Lighthouse/Lightship Weekend. For local events we participate in the Wings and Wheel event at the Florence airport and the Rhody Parade. In addition to our ARES support of emergency communications for the community we provide communications support for the Dunes City Triathlon and well as the Heceta Head Lighthouse Christmas Open House event.
The club provides mentor based assistance for people wishing to obtain an amateur radio license and those seeking to upgrade their current license. The club also provides local testing for the FCC required license though the ARRL volunteer examiner program.
The club holds an annual picnic in September. We have raffle prizes and a table to sell or buy previously owned equipment. It’s always a fun, sociable afternoon.
Club dues are $25.00 per year. The first calendar year dues are waived for those who have attended that year’s amateur radio class or mentoring program, for a technician license. There are no extra dues for a spouse who is also a licensed ham. Licensed hams in high school or lower grades are exempt from dues.
Your membership application is certainly welcome. Please click on the Membership Application button at the top of this page, complete the form and return to: COCARC, PO Box 254, Florence, OR. 97439, or a club member.
