Our local Amateur Radio club, Central Oregon Coast Amateur Radio Club (COCARC, ), has donated seven new books to the Siuslaw Public Library. The books are updates to some titles, plus several that are new additions to the collection. The titles are: "ARRL Handbook 2018”, “ARRL Antenna Book”, “ARRL Operating Manual 11th Edition”, “ARRL Technician Class License Manual”, “ARRL General Class License Manual”, “ ARRL Extra Class License Manual”, and the “Handheld Radio Field Guide”. Working closely with Erin Gordenier of the Siuslaw Public Library, the club made sure that the titles were appropriate and that there would be a place for them. Look for these new books in the library's nonfiction collection. Pictured Jay Guettler and Erin Gorderier.

As a side note on Oct 30th Jay received his volunteer FireFighter 1 graduation certificate at the Siuslaw Valley Fire Station #1, One of 10 new Siuslaw Valley Fire Volunteers
